update

I've been so frazzled for the last little bit that this blog has been the last thing on my mind.  Grandpa passed away a week ago this past Sunday. We went to California for his funeral last weekend and it was a good memorial service; I miss him. The beach and beautiful sunsets will always make me think of him.  Death is hard, no matter when it happens and no matter how prepared you are for it.
Friday morning before flying to California we moved out of our apartment. Jake was staying down afterward for a work training so we had to get all the heavy stuff out before we left. So Friday we moved things into our house, out of our apartment and then drove down to SLC to get on an airplane. This week I have been moving the rest of our stuff and cleaning the old apartment. I haven't even had time to clean the new place because things have been so crazy.
We get to go to the beach next week and I can't wait. It is precious time, especially thinking of precious times with Grandpa.  We should close on our house soon and will officially be homeowners. The next little bit brings so much for us to do and work on, especially since the house needs some work. Life never seems to slow down, it just gets busier.

Good thing I get to relax on the beach next week.

Colorado

We drove to Colorado last weekend to see my Grandpa. He had a stroke a few weeks ago and now lives with my parents. It was so wonderful to be with him and to see him on Memorial day.

It makes me  happy to have so many wonderful memories of my Grandpa. He is so amazing. My sister described his experience in the navy here. We had some sweet moments with him and I am so glad we went last weekend.

While we were there, we also went to some garage sales. Going to garage sales with my Dad is one of my favorite things to do, and since we are (hopefully) preparing to furnish a new house, it is a great, inexpensive way to do it.
Our truck came back like this:

It is good to be with family. It feels so good to go home.

high gloss magazine

I was looking through this issue online and had to share some pictures I love.

this headboard is amazing.

along with this mirror.

What pictures have you been loving lately?

hair

I know I keep mentioning pinterest, but it is just so much fun.  It has inspired me to want to spend more time on my hair so I can have some cute dos. While I am aware that it is nearly impossible for curly hair to look like these pictures, I still think it will look beautiful if I can ever pull them off.
