a party in my head

Have you heard the song "Party in my Head"? It's fun and also funny at the same time.  But I can relate because it happens to me all the time. Especially when I'm lying in bed trying to fall asleep and I can't stop thinking about everything I need to do and I keep promising to myself that I will wake up early tomorrow so I can get a good start on it and the party just keeps on going until much later than I wanted and then I eventually fall asleep. The only problem is that since the party in my head went on for so long I'm exhausted in the morning and I don't end up getting early...

hopefully if you have a party in your head it's more fun than mine :)

But I did have a fun, actual "party" last night when I hosted book club. Most of the ladies in the club don't know me very well since I was just invited by my neighbor to join. However, they were all very kind and it was a good opportunity to invite them into our home since they all live nearby.  I made some fruit pizzas and also tried this recipe. It was very yummy.
I guess having two different parties in one night is a good thing. Just as long as I don't have a party in my head tonight. Waking up at 3am doesn't go well with a late night. :)

cheese and pepperoni dip

While in Idaho Falls last week, I spent quite a while at a doctor's office with Grandma and Mom.  While there, I flipped through some magazines and found some new recipes I wanted to try in Taste of Home.  Saturday, we tried cheese and pepperoni dip. It was very good, we used breadsticks for the dip and it was fun to try it.

I would recommend it.

yum

Today for lunch I finished up our yummy dinner from Sunday.  One of my not so good homemaker qualities is that I hate to cook and don't do it as often as I should.
Case in point: last weekend my sister and I threw a baby shower for my sister-in-law.  We decided to each make some soup for it and, because I never cook, I had to find a recipe for homemade chicken noodle soup. I picked it because that's a basic soup I should know how to make.

It turned out ok, not a ton of flavor, but then chicken noodle soup doesn't have a bunch to begin with.

Anyway... Sunday I tried a new recipe of my sister's: Spaghetti Squash Primavera. It is sooo good. Seriously. Even after going to PF Changs on Saturday night, I thought this was better.

And it reminded me of another delicious recipe that I haven't made in a long time: Chicken Tikka Masala. Our friends made this for us one night and it was so yummy.  Cooking yummy meals makes me want to do it more often, except on days when we get home late from running errands and we just eat frozen pizza...
