I love this guy.

Seriously, I don't know what I would do without him. This past week he has taken care of me and even taught my Sunday school class for me because I was too sick to go. God sure blessed me when he brought me this man.

Jake's day

These are the only photos I managed to take on Jake's birthday.

Unfortunately, it was too warm for ice skating like I had planned, but I had invited some friends over for cake and games so we just started early with the Millers.

The sky was beautiful- I told Jake it was God's birthday gift to him.

And the girls beat the boys in sequence, which is always fun.

Happy 28th Birthday to Jake!

Happy 28th Birthday to Jake!

Here are just a few of the things that I love so much about you:

I love that you are a good sport.

That you want to learn new things.

Your fun crazy ideas. :)

You love others and do so much for them.

I love how fun you are!

That you put up with my craziness.

That you like BYU and have taught me to like USU too :)

I love your smile and seeing you laugh.

You work hard and will figure out how to fix anything.

I love that we have been blessed to spend so much time together in our marriage.

This week in pictures

Yes, this is my trash can. But it's pretty trash.

If you live in Utah and have never experienced Kneader's cinnamon French toast, you are missing out.

Hot chocolate bar set up done by my friend Wendy for our Potpourri club this week. This month was book club and we read Flora & Ulysses by Kate DiCamillo. It was great and made me want to pick up two phrases: "holy bagumba" and "holy unexpected occurrence". 😄

I hope your week was great!

Social life.

I'm trying to blog here or at sisterview every day this month, but some days I don't have much to say. :)

Today I am grateful for the amazing friends that I have. I don't have children and my closest family lives 2 hours away, so for Jake and I our social life is huge.
Last night I went to Cache Valley modern Quilt guild in Preston, ID and rode with 2 friends from Logan. It is so fun to carpool with them every month and to go and chat with more friends at guild.
Tonight is potpourri club with another group of friends - we don't just have book club, the activity varies each month and I love getting together with them.
It makes me grateful for wonderful people that have come into my life and for an amazing husband who encourages me to be involved in these things.
It's not uncommon for us to have plans with friends every night of the week- whether it is a sewing night, going out to dinner with another couple, etc.
It helps me be so grateful for the time I have had to develop friendships and for the answer to prayers 5 yrs ago when I was newly married and living in a city where my husband was the only person I knew that I should reach out to others and develop friendships instead of waiting for them to come to me. (Holy run on sentence!) 😄

A motto for me

I have many goals to work on this year, but along with them I want this to be my motto.

Just for fun.

Creative goals

I'm not the best at accomplishing my new years goals. I have some personal ones I am working on, but announcing them doesn't really seem to work for me so I might as well work on them privately.

But, I wanted to share my creative goals this year. I know most of my friends who read this aren't crazy into quilting like I am, but I posted on Sisterview.com  that my goal is to finish 14 goals in 2014.

In addition, I plan to make a few skirts and shirts with my serger and learn how to use that wonderful Christmas gift.

I also want to finish one project from a pinterest board each month.

Do any of you have any creative goals for 2014?

Hello, 2014

A new year is here, and along with it new hopes, goals and expectations. And some re{new}ed faith in what lies ahead. Because we don't accomplish goals without having faith that we can do them.

This year, I would like to move forward with strength in accomplishing what I need to do without excuses.
And I need to have faith that God can make up for the rest.

I want to look back at the end of 2014 as a stronger person with more faith in God and what I can accomplish through Him.

Happy New Year!
