question

So I was thinking about some differences between my husband and I. Last night we watched the Office episode from last week. We have cords that just hook our macs up to the tv so we can watch it there. For some reason my computer wasn't loading the video so we had to use Jake's. In doing so I realized a few things about myself.

1. I rarely have the volume on my laptop turned up. Most of the time it is on silent because I take it to school, etc and I can't stand the annoying beeps and noises that some programs make. When I want to listen to music or watch a video, then I turn it up.
2. My husband always has the volume up. And when he needs it off, he pushes the button several times to turn the volume down instead of just pushing one button that totally mutes it.  This sometimes annoys me because, as many of you know, I am often impatient and I think it is very inefficient.
3. we have this same difference with other things- especially playing games on the wii. We rarely use our wii, but recently purchased the old school tetris and have enjoyed playing it when we need breaks in between studying.  (I have many fond memories of playing Tetris with my Dad)  I want the volume down, and Jake is not annoyed by the same weird techno/elevator music going the whole time, full blast.

It's all about personal preference.

So here's my question: how many of you are like me and live without the volume and how many of you always have it on?

I am like you, Dan like Jake. I often turn on the laptop in the morning and it wakes Dan up- he was the last one to use it the night before. :)
Radio, TV, cell phone ring, alarm clock, everything. What do you think the deeper meaning is???

I basically live in silence all day, unless I'm in the presence of someone else. Chris likes to have more going on, and when we met (working in the same office) he always had music playing. I can't concentrate on much else if there is music playing.

The mute button is my favorite button on our Mac keyboard. :)

On my laptop, it's a little bit of both. Sometimes I like it quiet, and sometimes I want to hear things over the hubbub of life! As I get older, I prefer quiet more, but I've also learned that life makes noise, and that's ok. And I'm glad my husband leaves his volume up, because it's nice to listen to his music.

WHAT??? You can get the old tetris for the wii??? This I MUST know about. I would play with the volume cranked up no problem if I could just play that game. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. But you can't have it muted because then you don't hear that sound of the piece dropping into place, you know? Oh you better bring that game at thanksgiving. Never mind, what am I thinking, the tv is on football the entire time. I will be dreaming in tetris tonight. By the way, if you are alone in the car, which is it - quiet or like me LOUD music (of my choice) which I rarely get with the kids in the car with me! ha!

I usually have my laptop on mute because I take it to classes. I'm with you, Kristen.
