marriage

We are down in Salt Lake for Jake's sister, Ashlee's wedding today. I have been thinking about advice that one could give to a newly married couple, and a quote by Gordon B. Hinckley stuck out to me:

“I am satisfied that happiness in marriage is not so much a matter of romance as it is an anxious concern for the comfort and well-being of one’s companion. Any man who will make his wife’s comfort his first concern will stay in love with her throughout their lives and through the eternity yet to come” (18 June 1995).

Constant concern coupled with commitment to Christ and living the principles of the gospel make for a happy marriage and happy life in this life and the life to come.

Congrats Ashlee and Eric!

Fabulous quote! It is a simple principle, yet always a challenge to follow in day to day life! Thanks for the reminder on how to be better.
