still in love

I've been dreaming of how I want our bedroom to be for a while now- long before we moved in. I still continue to do so now that we have our house because my room has never been completed.

This is still the inspiration picture for what I want.

I keep trying to get hubby to make me a headboard in coral.  Ah I love that color.

And remember this duvet cover that I am in love with?  Well, I still am and will probably end up getting it soon.

However, I did find a new one today that takes the cake. The only problem is that since it's from Anthropologie, it doesn't take my wallet.

Does anyone have an extra $350 they want to send me so I can buy this beauty? Yeah, I didn't think so. At least I can still dream about it.

It reminds me a lot of this throw blanket that we happen to have two of because we love it so much.
Ok. Dreaming is over for now. Time to move on and accomplish something today.

What, you aren't ready to be done looking at beautiful things? Ok, you twisted my arm- just one more beauty to share:

Prettiful Designs

Last year I had the goal of saving my pictures throughout the year and then making an entire scrapbook of the year.  Of course, it would work out much better if I kept up on the scrapbooking throughout the year, but I didn't do it last year. So now I am going back and trying to get it all done.

I love digital scrapbooking and want to become better at it.  When I find a place that has great scrapbooking paper for a great price, it makes me happy.

My friend Dedra has some awesome digital paper packs and clip art. You can see her designs at http://www.prettifuldesigns.com or http://www.etsy.com/shop/PrettifulDesigns.  In these pages I'm using almost all of her designs.  I especially love the Winterberries pack and, of course the chevron packs.  Who doesn't love chevron?
What I like most about her paper is that they are cute basics that I'm always looking for.  The frames are wonderful too and I want to put them on every page. And the price is even better.

Now that my Photoshop class is over, I can learn how to do digital scrapbooking with Photoshop also.  And it's always fun to have cute tools to do it with.  Prettiful Designs has a great website that is easy to use also, so check it out here.

sunday update

this week went by fast.  I did better at my 15 minute a day sewing goal and also am closer to getting caught up on the Book of Mormon schedule for our stake.

We had some good friends over for dinner tonight and it was a great time. Yesterday was a crazy day but fun. I can't believe how fast the weekend goes.

Dishes are my enemy this week.  I hate them and they seem to hate me back and pile up.

I did a few blocks for my curves class this week and I also sewed two pillows for my couch. I will post pictures when done.  I'm determined to go through my sewing list for items for my home decor that I've been putting off for months.

sunday update

I can't believe how fast this week went. It flew by for me and I basically didn't do a lot even though I felt busy the whole time. wow- I need to do better at using my time wisely.

We had a great Valentine's day. My husband was craving sushi (don't die from shock) and luckily, a place near us is having half off all sushi rolls right now so it was affordable. $3 for a roll is not too shabby if I do say so myself.

I had my cake decorating class and although I am not great, I was able to make some flowers turn out decent and I was excited (see middle picture from wordless wednesday)

This week I did do better with making my daily to-do list and it helped me stay focused.  Exercise was not amazing, but it happened 3 days out of the week. Unfortunately, I am still sore from the awesome class I go to on Thursday nights.

I am enjoying reading the Book of Mormon right now, although I am so far behind on our stake's goal of finishing it by April. Lately I have been listening to it and it has been good. I love the people of Mosiah.

My nightly 10 minute clean up has been an epic fail this week and this month. I'm really not sure how I did so well in January and then feel like I am falling apart this month. However, I have 10 more days this month and I can accomplish my monthly goals perfectly for these last 10 days.

For some reason, my 15 minutes of sewing time hasn't happened this week. I don't know if it's just emotions, but I have been avoiding it this week. Luckily, last night I sat down and forced myself to work on a project for week 2 of my curves class. I've also noticed that on my to-do list I accomplish the easier things first and leave the harder ones for last (which sometimes means they don't get done). I think I need to do better at accomplishing a nagging task this week.

I've enjoyed some good reading time this week and finished Moon Over Manifest. I am now enjoying Graceling.  I also took some time to catch up on Downton Abbey this week (I don't know how I got sucked into a tv show, but I did). More job applications went out and even more prayers were said.

I am looking forward to a new week and new chances :)

sunday update

Honestly, this week I was horrible at my goals. But, this is where I am keeping track to hold myself accountable, so I am admitting it in public. I am doing better this week. When I follow my goals, I have a better schedule, I use my time wisely and I am happier.

Today was a wonderful day, in spite of reviewing my lack of accomplishment for the week. So many prayers and thoughts were said in our behalf and Jake and I felt the power of combined faith. We were able to see so many wonderful family members and it touched our hearts.

Have a great next week!

cookie party

I had a cookie party this week with ladies from church.  There are so many wonderful women there that I want to get to know better and that I admire so it was a fun time to chat and enjoy their company.
I asked each person to bring a dozen cookies with the recipe and it was so fun to try the different cookies.

Of course I forgot to take pictures with all of the ladies there, but I did take a picture when I was getting everything ready.

As a favor I used a free printable and put them in clear plastic frames that I happened to have. I also provided some treat bags so they could take cookies home with them.

It was fun to plan and so fun to enjoy the company of wonderful women. Happy Valentine's day!

this weekend

 I straightened my hair
discovered there's an Overstock outlet in Sandy and found this big shot pro. I'm so excited.
worked on some Valentine's stuff
Started on Jake's daily Valentine love notes. I'm using this
And I did the chocolate bar with this.

Oh and I'm totally loving this printable.

My goals this week went well. Continuing to accomplish my exercise goals was good this week.
I have different goals for February, but I want to continue everything from last month.  I got my 15 minutes of sewing/creative time in most days, as well as a good scripture study.

sewing

I'm really a beginner sewer even though I am trying to improve. I love it. I see so many cool quilts I want to make. I have only made 2 quilts start to finish (with the help of my sister). However, I do have 3 quilt tops ready to go that are waiting for me to get the courage to quilt them.

My sister and I are taking an online curves class for sewing. I am excited to learn and also worried at the same time that I am in over my head. But all of those cute projects make me want to do it!

I've also been enjoying the block of the month quilt along and finished december and january's block yesterday. It's been fun. Here's hoping that this year will be full of finished projects. (not just halfway started ones).

randomness

-I have 3 books scattered around my house that I am currently reading; In addition to my current audio book. Unfortunately, I am not progressing very quickly.
-I feel like my life is an emotional roller coaster
-I love keeping up on my goodreads- it feels like I am checking something off a list when I change the status of a book to "read".
-craft room is now organized.

-the teacher in my aerobics class laughs at me because I'm so uncoordinated. I laugh at myself too.
-I'm really good at living in denial.
-selling anything I want to get rid of on ksl or amazon is my new career. Not an amazingly sustainable or successful one, though.
-my almost weekly trips to the dentist since the beginning of my implant in September will be complete next week. (unless more problems come up, of course).
-decisions are hard.
-change is sometimes harder.
-why does it take me so long to accomplish things?
-to pay for COBRA or to go uninsured?
