Don't worry, I am not pregnant. But with 16 nieces and nephews and 3 more on the way, sometimes I think about baby names and if I will even have options when it's my turn :) Then I realized that there are so many things you need to think of when you name a child-like any possible nick names, being made fun of, etc. And, if there are any cousins you have to think about if the name sounds too much alike, etc. I know it's a random thing to be thinking of during finals week, but then there is the fact that you have to consider any known person with the same name and if that is a good choice or not. Oh and what if you have acquaintances (like old high school class mates) that named their kids names you like, but you aren't THAT close to them- is that ok?
My example for what got me thinking all of this- I have loved the name Bella for a few years now- but would I really name my daughter that among all the Twilight hype? I mean, do you really want her thinking that she was named after some weird fictional character who finds her true love in high school who just happens to be a vampire?
...or maybe the best part about those books is that we all know they will never be classics so it wouldn't matter as they got older....

I'm with you... Not pregnant yet! but sometimes I think about baby names, & who's already used which ones, & how many of the ones I could like not be so great with my future last name... etc!

IT is SOO true! Before I had kids I thought it would be so fun to name them. Now I just wonder how much they will hate me when they are 14. So you do your best and come what may, right? I love you, it was so nice to have you here for Columbine 10 year. I'm glad I could be with you for a bit and I believe you have done a great job of overcoming difficult circumstances in your life! I'm proud of you!!

We have several names already picked out, just have to wait for the kids to get here and frankly, some of our names our siblings have taken for their kids but I don't care because we thought of them first and I do as I please. :) Who cares what people think. Do what you want as long as you are considerate of your kid.
