Happy Birthday Jake

Today is Jake's birthday.

In case any of you didn't already know, I love this man. I love how he makes my laugh and will do anything to make me smile. I love the patience he has and his commitment to our marriage.  

He is super busy right now with 2 jobs and going to school full time, but Jake is always positive and I admire that so much.  

Its hard to make birthdays seem special- especially as we get older.  Work and school don't know that it's your birthday ( and even if they do, they don'tt stop for you) and life just gets busier and busier. But isn't it wonderful that we get to celebrate birthdays? Growing up, we had a tradition that i love.  Whenever it was someone's birthday, Mom would ask us what dinner we would like her to make, and what kind of cake and at the dinner table everyone went around and said something they love about that person. I don't remember any specific comments from my childhood, but I remember what a special feeling that was and how much closer it made me feel to my siblings.

I hope you feel special on your birthday and know how much I love you. i love your smile, i love that you are an eternal optimist, I love your strength, I love being in your arms, and I love the thought of spending eternity with you.
